Micah is a student at the University of Michigan, pursuing pre-medicine and studying movement science with a minor in biochemistry. He has received the James B. Angell Scholar Award for academic excellence.

Micah is also a research assistant at Hammer Laboratory, investigating cholesterol regulation in the adrenal glands. Micah has considerable hands-on research experience, performing immunohistochemistry, DNA extraction, PCR reactions, and gel electrophoresis protocols. He has also written research manuscripts and presented his research in multiple settings, including lab meetings, oral presentations, and a poster conference.

Micah currently has the following certifications from the American Red Cross:

  • Emergency Medical Responder with Basic Life Support, Emergency Oxygen, Asthma, and Epi
  • Bloodborne Pathogens Training

Outside the lab, Micah is an active member of the University's Rock Climbing and Snowboarding Clubs. Prior to attending Michigan, Micah was a successful competitive climber, achieving a top 10 ranking in the Midwest United States, and serving as a team captain at the Planet Rock Climbing Gym.

Micah has also devoted time to volunteer work, including at the South Oakland Warming Shelter, the Genesis Church Children's Ministry, and the Red River Gorge Climbing Coalition in Kentucky.
